Summary: Investing in the fruit of peace.

Step 1

Read Galatians 5:22-23:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

Are you ready to make an investment in the Fruit of Peace?

Step 2

Consider God's instructions and promise in Philippians 4:4-7 below...

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Read the verse again, thinking about separating out the 'instruction' from the promise. Select 'Successful' when you are finished.

Step 3

Would you like to have more of the peace of God?

Step 4

How important is it to take the time right now to receive that peace?

Step 5

Assuming you responded positively to steps 3 and 4, let's begin to follow God's instructions from the Philippians passage.

Step 6

It's clear that God is telling us to let Him know our needs. 'Supplication' means a humble and earnest request.

Can you think of a request you would like to make to God? If so, record it in the response area. We will return to it in a moment.

Step 7

One other very important point from the Philippians passage involves 'rejoicing.' Verse 4 says 'Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.'

Can you think of something God has done for you that is worth rejoicing over? Take some time if you need to. When ready, record it below.

Step 8

Now, let's think about putting together the 'rejoicing' with the 'supplication'. What we are actually doing is asking God for something while worshipping Him.

If you stop and think about it, why would you rejoice to God while asking Him for something?

Consider this: no matter how God responds to your request, you know that He is good! Your rejoicing is actually an expression of your faith in Him. Even if He denies your request, you can be sure that He has something better for you.

Do you agree?

Step 9

If you 'Agree' or 'Strongly Agree' with the last step, let's put together our worshipful prayer: skip to the bottom paragraph.

If you are struggling with the idea that your faith itself is the reason for rejoicing, then let's build up your faith first. Select the 'Save' button below. then, go to the Navitent Marketplace and enter 'Faithfulness.' Find a Trail that looks appropriate to help build your faith and complete the Trail. When ready, go to 'My History'. Find this Trail and complete it.

Record your rejoicing for what God has done for you. Then, record your request to Him. Keep in mind, you are actually recording a prayer to Almighty God here, so this is holy ground!

Step 10

Remember spiritual development takes time. Be patient and kind with yourself, the way God would!

If you like, schedule this Trail once a day for the next five days and see what effect it has on your overall level of Peace.
